Our taxi drivers are hired based on personality which makes us unique. We like to hire persons who are friendly, neat and clean in appearance, and customer-service focused.
Drivers undergo criminal and driving background checks, and reference checks prior to employment. After an offer of employment is made, the applicants must pass our in-house driving training program endorsed by the nationally recognized “Smith System”. Our certified Smith System trainer emphasizes safety and how to avoid situations that would put our vehicle and customer in harms way. After successfully completing the course, the applicant is trained by a designated taxi driver “trainer” to learn the actual job duties and responsibilities. Our drivers are uniformed in royal blue dress shirts, with the company city scape logo on the chest for identification.
Our Vehicles are late model Ford Crown Victoria P71 commercial chassis full size sedans. This vehicle is the workhorse of the taxi industry for its proven design for passenger comfort and durability. We also offer 7 passenger extended mini vans.
Our Mission is to provide our customers with fast-friendly service on time, all the time: Med City Taxi Inc. commenced operations in May, 2008. We are locally owned and operated by the Fliehr Family, who also own Star Limousine and Sterling Limousine. The two owners of Med City Taxi, have over 12 years of luxury transportation experience and are active in supporting various community projects in Rochester.
Our dispatch center in downtown Rochester is staffed 24 hours a day, and never closes. We are conveniently located one block north of Civic Center drive on the corner of Broadway Avenue and 5th Street.
Rates and insurance requirements are controlled by the City of Rochester.

What makes us truly unique? We know our customers expect the cab to be clean, so our taxis are cleaned after each shift. We know our customers expect the taxi to arrive in a reasonable amount of time, so our average lead time is under 15 minutes. But what customers do not expect are taxi drivers who help customers in and out of the vehicle, and carry grocery bags from the cab to their home.
